Later this month AMD is expected to unveil its new video card Radeon RX 590, and the closer to the announcement, the greater number of cluttered details of the upcoming novelty. Another leak from the famous Thai source with the alias TUM APISAK indicates a high overclocking potential of the new GPU.
In the database performance test 3DMark revealed records of testing two Radeon RX 590 in normal and overclocked modes. It is reported that the standard frequency 1576 MHz graphics processor has a graphics card from PowerColor, whereas the model with a slightly greater frequency of 1580 MHz is the product of XFX company. These frequencies reach the GPU, it seems that in Boost mode, and it should be noted that they are somewhat above the frequencies nominal frequencies of the Radeon RX 580.
But more interesting are the frequency achieved during acceleration. GPUs on the same graphics cards from PowerColor and XFX have been able to achieve frequencies in 1645 and 1680 MHz, respectively. It is very impressive results compared to the results of the Radeon RX 580, especially considering the fact that the regular frequency of new products above.
If these results are true, then the decision of AMD to release new GPU generation Polaris for 12-nm process appears quite justified. Even regular frequency Radeon RX 580 was at least 150 MHz higher than the Radeon RX 580. In both cases, of course, we are talking about petalonia models that do not detract from the merits of the new GPU. And the overclocking potential new items, and all leaves Radeon RX 580 far behind.
